Hello, I’m Mark and I’m just introducing myself to the forum. I’ve been hovering as a guest here for years, so thought it only right that I should join and maybe chuck my two penn’orth in occasionally if I think I can offer anything worthwhile. I’ve got a K1300 Motorsport that I bought new in 2016, it was a “last chance to buy a new one” purchase which I’m immensely happy with, it’s definitely a keeper.
I now do my own servicing using only genuine parts & fluids with the aid of a GS911 and a Sealey hydraulic lift ramp.

Welcome Mark!

When I saw your username come through I was fully expecting a lot of 'For sale' adverts.
Which, of course, you are still welcome to post.

Nice to hear there are still a few one-owner bikes around too.

Hello and welcome. I did like my Motorsport (before Bambi killed it) so "nice bike Mr"!

I'm looking forward to some pictures.
Correct rear brake use is scientifically proven to shorten stopping distances in EVERY road situation.

Hi Mark and welcome to the madhouse that is EuroKClub!

Be wary of forever bikes. My black beast was a keeper till some fool sent me a link to a 2015 Motorsport with 2,000 dry miles on it. I now appear to have two forever bikes… ::)

Thanks for your warm welcome. I’m not exactly tech savvy, so uploading a photo of my bike is probably not something I can do without having to go back to school (which I hated) so unlikely to happen, but it’s a standard Motorsport with sport panniers and a Givi top box that only get fitted when needed. It’s covered 28k miles, and is immaculate, no sign of any paint bubbles on the frame or drive unit, a little bit on the engine though but not visible with its clothes on, but I do keep it clean and well waxed with Turtle wax. It did have the front fork replaced under warranty at 3 months old due to paint bubbling, but no problems since.
Spares was an old nickname I acquired as a youth when we all had Honda step through field bikes, you could pick them up for a fiver ! I had a mountain of spares for them and became the go to kid for the local yoofs to keep them going.
I’ve got another “keeper” in the garage too, an immaculate 2005 Yamaha R1 5VY that I’ve had from new.it’s completely standard with no none genuine parts fitted including C&S set and brake pads, I can’t imagine there’s many genuinely original 20 year old R1’s around. It’s done 38k miles and has always had a valid MOT. Most of the mileage was clocked up touring Europe and a couple of visits to the Nurburgring. Ironically it too came close to being killed by Bambi while on tour in southern France, it was a very close shave !!
