I first taste this aged 18 whilst working as a waiter at the Royal Hotel in Portree on the Isle of Skye and has remained my favourite ever since. Dont be put off by the strength as it slips down far to easily and then wanders around on your taste buds for a pleasurable while.

Is this one of those new fanged no age statement ones?  Just reading a bit on masterofmalt and it sounds pretty alright for £46.  Might try it when I order next.

Don't know but it's been around awhile. I first tried it in the 1970s.

I have a bottle that states 10 years old on the back but I think I heard (possibly from Ralfy of youtube fame) it is going non age statement. Personally I don't think much of it. Need to check it again.  :P

For £46 would be much better off with aberlour abunadh.

It looks like the cask strength "105" has appeared over the years in various guises, some with age statements other without.

I was lucky enough to get hold of a bottle of the 20 YO edition.  I bought it around 3 years ago if memory serves me well.  It was a lovely drop, loads of rich flavours and nice deep colour to it.

Glenfarclas is one of my "go to" drams that is always a winner.  In my opinion they still offer very good value for money.

I managed to drop in to see the distillery while on the bike last year.  Great distillery tour and great roads if you are ever up Speyside way.  I got creative and made some space in the panniers to take a bottle home with me, slainte!
