B2 accelerator. Wunderlich adjustable levers, hub , brake caliber protectors, duolever bold protector. Turatech ABS Sensor protectors. IDE bars. Rizoma rear led signal lights, bar ends with lever protectors. Sargent complete system seat (pod, pillion backrest). Shrodie side badge led signal lights two modes. LED lights 2X35W 3000k high beam, 10W parking two modes. Tracker. Metisse front wheel protector sliders. R&G water pump protector, cardan protector. Ilmberger carbon set. Ztechnic tank protector,DT wimglets.

Wow!

I'm sure this will resonate with many in here. Not having kids means I will never get that feeling or reward; on the other hand I never got the expense nor the worry  ;D

  • My K bike model:: K1200S (05) departed but well loved! Now R1200RS I am now a Boxerboy.
  • Modifications and add-ons:: I had no bling on my K12 and was proud of it! And it never, ever let me down, honest! And it still had the o.e. battery going strong, honest!

Touching tale, Costas. I can imagine your mixed emotions but it must be rewarding to share a love of bikes and to be able to offer help when it's needed. Like you, I stayed away from bikes while my children were young and returned to the fun when they were independent teenagers. So far, neither of them has shown much interest although my daughter used to enjoy the pillion.

Thats a great story,Costas,and well told too!
Like Brian,I don't have kids-far too selfish,(I come from a big family and never wanted the financial and emotional burden that my folks had to suffer).
But I have made a mental commitment to try and get more people interested.I've had a fantastic life of motorcycling,and I want to help others enjoy what I have had...it might be a few years because I'm not retired yet but I think about it quite often already.
Since the IAM thing,(and I hope that what I've written about it on here shows how much fun I had doing it ),I realise that a lot of people get into bikes,but they never really grasp what,"it",is all about...and then they move onto something else,lost to bikes, possibly forever.
Over here there is too much emphasis on the danger,and not enough on the excitement...but as your story shows there ARE young people who see past the Health & Safety propaganda .
Having said that you sound exactly like the sort of dad most kids would want!

Well, unlike Brian or Chris, I do have kids ;), and no they're certainly not a burden. In fact, it's a very rewarding undertaking to have and to raise children, especially when they start to carve out their own independence as they mature into adulthood.  :)
No dig or jibes intended here, just a positive non-selfish viewpoint to balance things...! :)

And the story had now turned a different angle. My daughter just decided that leaving away form the protective environment offered by dad and mom, and the free flat, was not a good choice and decided against it. After 5 years away from us shipped her staff, and rode up to Heraclion where she embarked the boat to Piraeus. She now residents in the flat below and commutes on her new Scooter, a bike have to admit fits perfectly Athens traffic.
Happy for her that here ultimately she might find what she is looking for, and for one more good reason; Mary always learned and proved that loves motorcycles so now I'll have someone to follow me on the trips, only need to train her and recon that few track days will be sufficient to ride the RR, as surely the big K is not a girls toy.
Paul on the other hand is currently enjoying his self in sunny (he says) Leicester working as a teller in B&Q, while he is thinking to join local University for yet another degree. And he there now rides a bicycle, still cant decide to go for a Motorworks K bike or buy a tin box as his girlfriend hopes he does.

Glad you have her home with you, doubtless it will not be for ever  8)

No doubt there are a few ladies who will disagree with you about the K  ???

Brian (who says tell Paul from one who knows, if his future is on bikes he needs to change his girlfriend  ;D )
