With planning under way for trips across the Channel, many of us will be wondering quite what horrors the soon to be introduced (gradually) EES system will hold.
Well, fairly predictably, perhaps holiday ruining delays, at least for those travelling by air. For those of us venturing into the Continent on bikes or in cars, the horrors could be even worse, or perhaps even better, at Folkestone for travel on the Eurotunnel or whatever they are calling it this week.
I had almost decided that if I was going to waste time in a queue, it 'might' be a good idea to head over to France for lunch during the non-holiday madness and waste the time when time wasn't an issue.
But then I discover that they are introducing the use of the terminals on a phased basis, so turning up might mean you get to do the biometrics thing and get it out of the way or it might mean that you get your passport stamped which isn't much use for the intended idea of getting your biometrics sorted.
What to do? Too difficult to think about for a bear of little brain. Someone on X or Instagram could ask Simon Calder for advice as he knows everything there is to know about travel stuff.
