K1300S switched 12V
« on: April 08, 2020, 01:55:35 pm »
Greetings from New Mexico.  I am a DAV and getting back in the saddle.  Found a low mile 09 K1300S.  Quite a different animal than my 82 R100RS.  Cure for the need for speed.  Found a low mileage one and trying to add some lighting.  Any help finding a 12V switched source in this harness?

Hi David and welcome to the madhouse that is EuroKClub!

No idea what a DAV is but congratulations, unless it is so e horribledisease of course.

If you remove the battery cover you will find, taped to the narrow crossmember at the front, a connector for a Sat Nav.

This has an earth as well as two switched live connections, one instant off with ignition and the other delayed by approx. 30 seconds.

If you search the Sat Nav board you will find links to the special cable with connector available from dealers or other outlets (at least here in UK). Simply plug it in and take your pick of the 12v feeds.

If you are connecting anything other than low current items like a sat nav, you will be best using the feed to power a relay.

Good luck. Brian

Hello and welcome , its definetly a worldwide forum. Due to cambus is always better to directly connect to battery all gajets.

https://www.fuzeblocks.com/ also available from Nippy Norman. Once a switched live is found there are no Canbus errors.

https://www.twistedthrottle.com/ sell a switched live connector that plugs into the side lights, no cutting or splicing.
