........
That just leaves the alarm/TPMS which Jefferies couldn't code in for me - that was £50 spent on top of the £85 for the unit from Motorworks. Question is, is the unit faulty or is it (as Motorworks suggest) just that the BMW software won't allow coding of a "used" unit. Does anyone know if the GS911 can "teach in" alarm units? Is it even always/ever necessary?

I would expect if it can't be done with ISTA/P - then it's a job for WinKfp (another bmw tool, for flashing units directly as opposed to because some stored procedure in ISTA/P says to). But, the diagnostics (ISTA) that the dealer uses would talk to the module and retreive data from it regardless of whether it can be coded or not.

If you make it down to mine as we discussed I'll be able to give you definitive proof as to whether Motorworks are talking guff (I suspect they are) as we'll either be able to talk to it or not.

If we can talk to it, should be able to sort this for you whether it's the easy way (ISTA/P) or the harder way (WinKfp).

Appreciated Nick - I have two combined units now. One which responds to my fobs (so alarm works) but TPMS doesn't and one which does neither at the moment. TPMS does work with my original unit and I know that both sensors work and transmit. Great to get it working if we can so looking forward to it.

I bought a used alarm from a guy on the f800 forum for my f800gs

It works, responds to the fob, screams when moved when the bikes parked up etc, however it won't activate the indicators or the dashboard Led. It too refused to be coded to the bike. Turns out older ones have different firmware that behave thus.

As it does rge squealy alarm function I'm ok with not having the flashing turn signals seeing as it was cheap :)

Curious. The one I have that arms etc flashes the dash but not the indicators....hopefully at least one of them will work...
