I think Poeton in Gloucester do replating of cylinders. Might be worth a try, if you can get the block to them.http://www.poetonaptec.co.uk/cylinder-repair.htm

What have you decided to do Costas? You could get by with one piston if the bore isn't scored.
As I have grown older, I've learned that pleasing everybody is impossible, but pissing everyone off is a piece of cake.

Here in Italy, on some single cylinder engines I've experienced the renew of nikasil via  galvanic treatment  without issue. There's a factory near Lecco (where there's the Gilardoni factory that already worked fo BMW)that for a 250 cc single cylinder asks about 150 € . I dons' know if they do it for a four cylinder but i think that is possible.
