Wanted. K1300S radiator, or where to buy one
« on: June 03, 2017, 05:24:47 pm »
Hello,

I need a new radiator for my 2009 K1300S. After 56k miles it is in bad shape, barely any air flow, overheats in warm weather unless running 20+ mph.

New from dealer £500. Ouch.

Looking for a cheaper option. Alternative supplier? Used rad off a bike with half the mileage? Lottery ticket?

thanks

A tittery locket is yer best bet.

Many threads on this one, huge weak spot of K design.

No-one else makes an alternative and good ones rarely come up and can be on the way out with silly low mileages...

Welcome to K ownership.

As yet there is no alternative, sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Mine cost me £566 fitted, that was about 3 years ago.
There have been several threads on the subject, do a search and all will be revealed.

Price here is better but shipping charges makes things even.

I picked up a used one for £250, was very good condition.  I would check ebay and also ring up some breakers.

Thanks everyone.

At least the dealer said they won't charge labour for fitting the rad if I have it done at the same time as the major service. Only £980 for the service and the rad. Ouch.
