Yep.
The idea is to stop it rolling forward on a slope and off the stand.
So put it in gear or park the opposite way round.
Its not always the destination that counts its the ride, having a destination just stops you going round in circles.

You rarely find an air pump on a slope so I guess it was a case of the stand not being fully down. I did that with my Honda the day before I was taking it to its new owner  :-\  Luckily my leg was under the bike as it landed  :o

Re:Ventureshield, the stuff on my K13 is an amazing job and the previous owner fitted it himself so don't let that put you off. The folks who did my K12 (not very well!) sell individual pieces from the 3M kit of parts!

I had mine fall off its stand fortunately I was standing next to it removing my helmet at the time, my leg took most of the weight lucky it didn't brake it. Its arrival on the ground was gentle and only put a small scrape on the fairing. The stand design design is crap it does not move forward enough, on all other bikes I have owned to push them off the prop stand the bike had to lift up an inch or two to get past the pivot point. Not so on the K13s so I never get off the bike unless it's in gear and moved against compression.

I wouldn't bother with the 3M templates or the Venture Shield.
I purchased this product and its easy to apply and invisible when on the panel.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/20cm-3m-Clear-Rhino-Skin-Car-Bumper-Hood-Paint-Protection-Film-Vinyl-Sticker-/251624228467?hash=item3a95f90673:g:9E4AAOSwbqpT9rz3
Make your own paper template then mark the paper on the back of the product with your template and cut to shape. Spray water onto surface and apply, move into correct position and then squeeze out the water. It also bends around complex curves, with a little heat applied. I used it on my carbon belly pan, front mudguard, frame and heel guards and its blemish free ;) all for £3.86 ;D

Yup - I'm now paranoid whether the stand is fully down.....
