Dicke Lovett - First Class Service
« on: March 27, 2016, 02:49:22 pm »

I'd be the first to complain if I got bad service from a dealer so it seems only fair to give praise when due.

Had an issue with my centre stand on 'new' 2010 K13GT bought from Wollaston BMW a week ago. Very difficult to get bike off stand. seems it is bent - footpad on end of stand is flat with ground when stand is down.

Not wanting 120 mile drive back to Northampton (a horrible journey with 1,000 speed cams a mile) I took bike to Dick Lovett at Bristol, hoping it could be fixed under BMW used bike warranty.

They could not have been more helpful. Item not covered by warranty, but they rang Wollaston and did a deal with them meaning DL replaces part and Wollaston pays them. I have to pay nothing (new CS and fitting quoted as £300 including all springs etc).

During all this I was provided with free coffee and donuts.  Bike now booked in for next week to have part fitted and they will do it while I have a mooch around B and Q at Cribbs Causeway. Easy. :)

If only all dealer experiences were like this one.

Yep, for all the hassle I had with my GT, and the GS later on,  Lovetts as a dealer were brilliant. I couldnt even detect a slight wince when after they lent me their brand new 0 miles WC GS, I took it back 4 weeks later with 1200 miles and salt all over it, and paint falling off it :o
Isnt it Ironic, no its a BMW what dya expect.

So far I also have nothing but praise for Dick Lovetts, they have been brilliant I getting my short  block replaced because of corrosion and even made the 600 miles service free once I had run it in.

Yes, Lovetts are okay to deal with. Certainly more than can be said for their car sales staff across the way!! ::) I've also found Riders of Cardiff to be very helpful when it comes to technical advice and help, and I haven't even bought anything from them either!

No - When I was running Bigbikemad I bought 4 or so bikes a year - and have had one from Lovett's before, so they know me. My Porsche also came from them (only an oldish Boxster they took in P/Ex.) so there is some history.

I have found that bikes tend to get cheaper the further up the country you go (not always true, but seems so quite often) so I often buy over the internet which means they can come from anywhere.
