New owner from Bedfordshire
« on: July 22, 2020, 10:02:10 pm »
Hi all
Picking up a K1300s motorsport next week  :) so quite excited. Had a K1200s some years ago, and ways regretted selling it. Just love the motorsport colours and spec.

Changing from a GSA which I’ve had from new, but it’s just so heavy especially when fully fuelled (great bike tho) anyway fancied a change and originally placed an order for a new f900xr pre lockdown. Apparently it’s due to be built some time in October!!!!! So decided to have some summer fun on a K in the meantime. I may even keep it?

I’ve been lucky to have had many great bikes and brands over the last 30 years, and hope this one will “scratch my itch”

Look forward to joining in.
Cheers

Welcome Grey,

You'll find the K is heavy too, but low down, and once it's moving beyond 5mph you'll forget about it.

A K and an F900 are chalk and cheese.
It will scratch your itch in some way, guaranteed.

Be prepared to cancel the F900 order, if you haven't already.  8)

Yes the GSA is only noticeable heavy when moving at slow speed , placing on centre stand and generally shuffling It around in the garage, so not a big issue.

I test rode the f900 xr in January and was impressed, in fact sold my KTM 790 in readiness. So frustrating but hey ho in the world circumstances no big deal. I’ll see later in the year if I keep the order going.

Meanwhile....... really looking forward to getting acquainted again with the K, oh I’ve got a 350 mile ride to collect  8)

Gosh, I always forget how long it seems to take them to build the bikes! Wish they'd under promise and over deliver instead!

Welcome to the party anyway :). I just went from a K motorsport edition to an R1250GS. I know the GSA is a heavier beast but it will be interesting to hear how you find the move to the K re the weighty weight.

I rode the F900R I think it's called, at the start of the year. Was quite nippy but definitely backroad nippy. 44teeth Mossy seemed to think the XR was much much more fun, so I should really try one I guess.

Hello and welcome.

Having previously owned both a K1200S and a K1300S MotorSport, I think you're in for a pleasant surprise. Everything the K1200S did, the K1300S does better.

I'm looking forward to the pictures! :D

Hi Nick and welcome to the madhouse that is EuroKClub!

I loved my GS but that was an 1150 and I always think that the move to the plastic battle tank was a bad move.

The move from the 12 to the 13 was most definitely a good move and you will notice a huge difference. Just mind your shins when manoeuvring the bike without your boots on...

He is so right. Those pretty Gilles(?) pegs will eat your shins/boots/calves.

Thirded! Every time I go out to the new bike I still automatically put my boots on thanks to those first few times with the Motorsport.
