So now we all have to....

I'll do it for you!

The best plate I've ever seen was "R1" which was on a Range Rover near where I live, that would great on my Yamaha :)

I used to regularly see "DOB1" on an old Sherpa minibus belonging to the estate of the Duke Of Bedford in my younger days.
There's no place like 127.0.0.1

Just remembered another good one.  SPL 1F on black Range Rover with tinted windows and massive alloys. Wonder how many times he has been stopped?

The E type number plate is of course illegal. Should be vertical.
As I have grown older, I've learned that pleasing everybody is impossible, but pissing everyone off is a piece of cake.

Not sure that rule applied back then; I'm sure we still had to have front number plates on bikes at that time!

My ex got nicked in the 60's with a stick on number on the bonnet of our second Hillman Minx. No it wasn't on top but facing the front.
The ticket accused her of having the numbers on one side if the car and the letters on the other. Fined £1 and bigger fine £9 I think for no tax.
Its not always the destination that counts its the ride, having a destination just stops you going round in circles.

> In the 1980's I saw a Dunlop Ford Granada Estate with 1A on it going through Wendover where I lived at the time.

Saw that one too. Owned by Dunlop/BTR. It used to come to Motorcycle GPs:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A1_registration_plate

3A potters around the Rugby area, attached to a Peugeot 306 the last time I saw it - about 10 years back.
A pretty beaten up one. Proper style. Got to be a farmer who doesn't give a damn. I'm not impressed by personal number plates, but I'd say that's the way to do it.
