I owned and toured in one of those Brian.  Silver grey and very cool (and kool, pre hi-viz vest days).

However, the non aerated plastic surfaces caused some sweating if the jacket was not removed immediately on stopping for a break. Otherwise, on restart, the wind would cause an evaporation chill which was torture.  Also, if riding early (even in southern France) a thick fleece over the top was essential until the day reached working temperature. Otherwise, excellent - cool and safe.  I wish they still made them.

For hot day town riding, I find individual Dianese armour; elbows and long back, covered by a bright yellow shirt very comfortable. (My nethers, for modesty and safety are also clad - armoured leather jeans. TMI ?

This is mine:

and it's still being sold.

I bought mine at silly money from Costas the dealer in Athens while my bike was being serviced there in 2013.

It was so hot riding in town that 'our' Costas lent me his son Paul's Airflow and I was hooked and bought mine on offer the next day. I wore it till the rain started in the Alps on the way home and then put the rain suit over it and didn't swap back to my Halvarssons till I was on the Black Forest High Street when it got veeeeery cold and foggy.

Brian (who gets maybe a couple of month's wear out of it in UK in the average summer but as a sweaty sod it is worth its weight in gold, albeit very white gold)

Thanks Brian. The item shown is quite similar to the original 90s version and, who knows may be better  ;). I will check it out.

Now then kiddies, talking of hi-viz, one of our, shall we say less-young, members has just managed to cripple his bank balance by forgetting that he had a shackle lock through the rear wheel and as he manoeuvred it, he managed to snap the valve stem off the TPS and warp the disc!

So, for those of us who can't remember who they are, let alone where they are, my advice is simple, buy lots of these

http://www.amazon.co.uk/OF390-Oxford-Disc-Minder-Cable/dp/B004HWYZYO

and attach one to every lock you put on your bike, every time you put a lock on your bike! Simples!

One end round a lock, t'other round your twistgrip, if you have a floury wotsit on your grip, you don't move the bike. At less than a fiver, it is too cheap to ignore! I have one on my Oxford disc lock, one on my Abus Granit shackle lock and one on my Almax Series III chain and I have just ordered another for my Pragmasis Anti-Pinch Pin cos I nearly rode off with that through the frame the other day!!!!

Brian (who has been there and done that with his Honda, luckily without damage)

Thanks Brian,

I have just checked out the Pragmatist pinchpin. Nice video, the man even explained that a 19 mm chain is even bigger than a 16mm.

Think I'll get one. Feeding my 16mm chains through the wheels is quite tiresome though so far I have not damaged the rim. And, as the man says, "Wheels can be removed. "

Mine goes through the large hole beneath the swing arm pivot. They recommend the hole through the rear drive but my bike won't get close enough to the anchor for that!

You most definitely do NOT want a 19mm unless you eat three Weetabix for breakfast.

Bear in mind you MUST have the Squire SS65CS lock with the pinch-pin and no other lock.

I bought my lock and chain from Almax before discovering the pinch-pin and then bought a second lock with the pin from Pragmasis. Had I discovered them before I bought the chain, I would have given them all the business as they are really good guys and even supplied my second lock keyed-alike to the one I bought from Almax so I only need one key for both ends of the chain.
