Sepsis

Hi Guys

Not been posting for the last three weeks as I was blue lit into hospital with a UTI and severe sepsis, I can genuinely say I've never felt so poorly in my life.

After a week of heavy duty intravenous antibiotics I'm feeling better than I was but still very weak.

Consultant told me he'd had similar once and felt very poorly and his infection markers were 50, apparently mine were 250 and he was surprised I could still speak.... this growing old sucks.

First week back at work last week, still feeling decidedly battered

I'm glad to hear you're on the mend even if there is still a way to go.
Correct rear brake use is scientifically proven to shorten stopping distances in EVERY road situation.

Jesus H, Steve!

Sepsis seems to be the new scary follow-on from almost anything these days. Not long ago, no-one, doctors included, had ever come across it, now it seems to be everywhere.

No doubt Trump and Kennedy will be along in a moment to blame it on your diphtheria jab when you 4.

Considering the number of folks who die from it, or worse, end up with no arms and legs, I think you are exceedingly lucky to still be able to post about it.

Oh, and no-one said getting old was meant to be any fun  :)

Isn't memory a funny thing? Can't remember where you parked the bike this morning but you remember that bloody sugar cube.

Whichever one it was, it created a massive hole in the top of my arm where I kept picking the scab off because it itched like crazy.

Item on the BNC news today about a woman sent home from hospital with antibiotics and the next day her fingers and toes dropped off. Literally!

Every time I go to the Doc's, even if just for my routine prescriptions I always ask if I have sepsis. Just because...
