(CASTROL) OPTIMOLY TA ?

Does anybody have or use this product when reassembling the silencer ball joint clamp on the K bikes? It cost a fortune, £22 for 100ml, and is recommended by BMW for the clamp.

I had my exhaust off a few times and put it back dry without issue.

I beleive its there to allow the ball joint clamp to slip around the collar to stop it grabbing when being tightened. That stretches the clamp and in the end its too long to do the job it was designed for. I had difficutly sealing the joint with the perscribed 35nm and suspect the clamp was grabbing as described. I would like to get some of the Optimoly TA if somebody has an old or unwanted tube.  ::)

When I enquired at my dealer's, the service manager went in the workshop and came out with a micro-tube of Akropovic branded Copaslip. 'This is what the guys in the workshop use' he quipped. 'You can have this one!'
