We don't register a lot of things when starting a vehicle. If we did it would be more obvious what is wrong when a vehicle won't start. For instance can we hear the fuel pump when we switch on the ignition. If we switch it off and then try to start it again can we again hear the fuel pump? Can we hear relays clicking?

Do we all carry out a dash warning light check before start up?

Or are you lazy like me and start and ride off?

Thanks for the advice.

The two items I purchased first was a GS-911 and a repROM DVD. It was serviced by BMW back in April so that's covered, but I'll be checking the rear suspension links for my peace of mind.

Let us know how well greased they are.

Only checked my Rukka gloves because you mentioned CE Level 2 and surprisingly they don't specify any safety level of consruction.

Something seriously wrong with your bike to get such a low mpg.

I normally zero the trip when I brim the tank and then look to refuel when I get to about 190miles. I expect to do about 10 miles per litre which is about 45 mpg.

Old school from when no bikes had fuel gauges but at least had reserve. Never was a good idea to forget to switch the reserve off because you can guess what happened.

The number of times that the bike went onto reserve as I rolled into a petrol station!

Some cars have a CPS and a distributor cap.

When did crankshaft sensors come into existence?
About the time when engines started to be controlled by ECUs.

That would suggest that that connector is the crankshaft position sensor connector.

Took a ride over to the Touchdown Cafe today with some mates and very nice it was. Was even too hot with my jacket lining out.

I've got a good route over to the Touchdown Cafe. Will have to head over there again some time soon.

If you take a good look at an old rad that has been changed because of overheating you will know that they are beyond "cleaning at leisure".
