Operations :
Carried out quick test , no faults stored for start issue
Carried out components test, removed fairing and fuel tank to gain access to starter motor
Checked starter switch and wiring , found starter motor relay faulty
£115.90

Replace starter motor relay and reassembled bike
£97.60

Starter relay £13.34

Inc Tax = £270 odd quid  :-[

but as stated , she was running better when i collected her, lower idle etc so maybe a quick squint over tidied up some previous work....who knows. The main tech they have now is a bike owner , not to say the previous lads weren't but maybe just a more common sense approach applied by a biker rather than a tech ...if you know what i mean.

Aaaaaaaand now of course we have snow up here, so at least i have the bike home albeit i cannot use it currently .....ah well , wee victories

A bit of fault finding. Checked starter motor .. then switch... god knows what the part cost  ::)... the cynic in me thinks they might have tidied up previous work as she's running a lot smoother,  lower idle,...etc...

Bike back, running a little sweeter ..relay changed and £270 quid lighter :'(

Turn the garage into a usable and secure place for the bike - namely automated new garage door, better back door, maybe turntable affair etc. Add completely legal semi-lethal twoc-dissuasion devices of my own design. Go to prison.

Get new bike. Though having just had the first two days of riding this year, i'm obviously besotted with mine again...

Need to get back over the channel this year, even if it's only a bit of Belgium'ing.

Try and realise money isn't the only target!

Ok that's about it. Maybe run a bit.

Love an automated garage door....you feel like batman if you can set it off as you pull towards it ...

Pick up me new Kawasaki H2 SX SE in March and find out if it really is better than my old K1300S by commuting 600 miles a week and doing the Old Gits trip to the Dolomites in June. :D

Try and get my old R100CS on the road for spring.

600 a week  :o

So, having bought the K12 , the master plan is to do a bit of 2 up running about , culminating in the NC 500 ...provided i'm nae bankrupted by it ....the bike that is.

Fits a'body else's plans for this year on their bikes

Got everything crossed  ::)

yeah, at this moment i'll take what i can get , since they've gotten to it earlier than anticipated.

Call from BMW , bike stripped and fault tracked to starter relay. Part will arrive tomorrow and they'll recheck once the relay is fitted .

In to John Clark today, well, this morning, can't get a bike as they only have 2 , 1 is off the road and the other is booked out. I might have been offered a car...I'm not sure.
I'll get a bike wed/Thurs. They don't think they'll get to my bike till wed or so anyway.
I'm less than enthused about their customer service tbh..
2 loan bikes , compared to ...and I'll hold my hands up to bias up to 5 demonstrators at honda that, if they weren't booked , you could get. I got a brand new R1 for a day last year...(A nice toy but you couldn't live with one ...lol) ...against my 18yr old £1600 vfr800. That's not too shabby.
