There is certainly no benefit to replacing an Akra with the stock can.

Despite the BMW Akra having a cat (unlike an after market Akra) and weighing a ton, it is still lighter than the stock item and more free-flowing.

Also, with the dB killer in it is merely a pleasant note rather than no note at all and not intrusively loud.

Cash? A quite substantial wad of cash, in fact.  :o
But if I do end up removing it, I won't be selling it. The next owner will expect a Motorsport to come with an Akra.

I'll test with and without baffle, and compare to the std exhaust, as a service to mankind.
I have a db meter app downloaded, and poised ready. I've set it up to listen for the postman.

If my MOT man doesn't add the following as an advisory, I'm disappointed.

Advisory. Exhaust noisy.

So if you are not going to sell it and release the wad of cash, why change it? It makes no sense to me.

Problem:
- t'Akra is too loud without a baffle

Steps to solution:
1. Add baffle, see if it's acceptable to ikle delicate ears
2. If not, buy and fit standard exhaust, which ikle delicate ears know to be just fine & dandy

Step 1 is in progress.
Step 2 is theoretical, the fallback position.

Makes sense to me.

You've ridden alongside, in front of and behind my K13, complete with dB killer equipped Akra, for hundreds of miles and for most of those we were making progress and unless you were merely being your ususal polite and inoffensive self, you never said ‘Cripes Brian, that pipe's a bit loud!'

So...

When I first got my bike I tried it a couple of times without the baffle and it was fun especially when going for it and using the quick shifter.

I thought that it was too noisy without the baffle fitted and it got on my nerves after a while therefore it will remain fitted. I have disconnected the flap in the exhaust which makes the bike noisier at lower revs but the noise is acceptable and doesn't get on my nerves.
As I have grown older, I've learned that pleasing everybody is impossible, but pissing everyone off is a piece of cake.

Exactly! A 'while' was just two rides for me.

With earplugs in - 38dB ones, well fitted.
