points for everyone...almost.
it was a much better day than the photo suggests.... perfect riding weather really, very unlike the day before.
we gambled on good weather from 1st sept but were about 3 hours out.
headed off about 10.30ish , roads were drying fairly well but sky didn't know what to do. half an hour in it decided, rain. wet gear on and really it wasn't too bad. couple of hours later we stopped to eat just on the far side of cavan, sun out..yeah.
after a decent roast beef dinner the sun wasn't just shining it was really warm, thus the wet gear stayed in the bag it was put in after dinner.
ten mins later....the heavens opened... buggar, stopped in a petrol station and topped up and put on the wet gear again. it was a present and well made and heavy and everyone got a laugh at me putting it on.
we hung about awhile ...looking for a bank (to late)or money changer for one of the guys and of course it dried up. we gave up but i cleverly decided the weather had settled and suit off again. at the other end of the same town we spotted a post office and while my ridding buddy was in there it started to rain again...suit back on. weather did mend up a wee while later but the suit was now staying on.
we travelled down through the middle off ireland....not our usual coast route and while bits of it were ok the coast is better for roads, scenery...pretty much everything.
stayed in lisdoonvarna that night, first night of the lisdoonvarna festival. fair crowd about but but apparently it gets busier as the month goes on. a lot of immigrants there and one of the hotels is closed to house them... this a thing on the west coast, accommodation is an issue, we used to rock up to a place and stay if we liked it, no more. anyone thinking about visiting book ahead.
next day, fuzzy heads all of to fr teds house on craggy island (not an island). it's in the burren national park. nice trip ,the fields of stones catch the eye...90% (my guess) of the houses are built from natural stone.
burren national park and teds house  get a vote from me.
lisdoonvarna festival, it's worth seeing, but not worth going to see, as they say round here.
then back up the west coast, our prefered run. heads cleared, warm but not hot, good umm progressive run back up to donegal....this is a great run for any visitors. you can do scenery, history or just give the bike it's head and enjoy the roads.
then home and waffel about it.

Is that :adolf: I see, saluting from the window?

And those cows! Are they far away? Or just small?
