Lovely, lovely piccies! We love lots of piccies   8)

There are folks (like Tom) who have re-used the clutch cover bolts with no apparent problem.

I note from the parts listing that the oil pump was uprated from the K12 to K13

The K1200 pump was rated at 4.5 Bar

The K1300 pump is rated at 5.5 Bar

On the new bolts when first fitted I stuck to the 3n-m + 90degree, on reusing them, I did the 3n-m (which is hardly hand tight!) + 45degree (or there abouts).

I did consider annealing the bolts - it wouldn't take out the stretch but would remove the work hardening process - I may test this with the original bolts I took out - I'll look up but around 500f I think is the temp fro Al (gas mark 7!) - if I get the research done, I'll post what I find. I am really surprised at the low overall torque of these bolt and the claim stretch - I understand the work hardening impact - we need to sacrafice one in a Hounsfield tensometer and graph load (torque) vs elongation - TMcC

Excellent work , still the hole in pic no 1 with Mark 0 might been better a bit lower, as we already been informed about this revision by a cluch mechanic some years back. Relevant pictures can be found in the technical section.
It is true what a picture can tell no words can describe, thanks for all pics.
The pod can be revised too , there in technical you can find how.
Big Tom baskets were produced in 5 variations, 04/03 -09/06, 10/06-08/08, 09/08-03/11, 04/11-09/13, 10/13-09/15.each one has more modifications in the form of more holes different bearings, more safety pins, different pods etc.
Mine has the 3rd and has issues with lubrication something hope will cure by adding more holes and working a bit with the pod, very similar to what was done here.
Back to the gearboxes something went terribly wrong with the dealer this bike was serviced properly as the code apearing in the picture belongs to fork in gearboxes ordered (recall type 2, selected recall) to be replaced (complete box) back in the summer of 2008 on all 1200 bikes with it,  they were aboout 200 pieces worldwide. So who didn't do his job , well again the stealer dealer.

Thanks for that Costas
I had a good 200+mile run on Friday morning - outcome is that the bike was great but I need to change the riding style as it's totally geared to going two up from first - it'll come.

I did manage to speak to the original owner of the bike (I'm the second) who is a good friend - He did not have the transmission looked at by the dealer at all in his 3yrs ( and 3000mls) of ownership - so the only conclusion on the shift fork is that it was changed by the dealer prior to selling the unit....  ??

Thanks for now - Tom

Maybe,  who knows if he did then it will appear in bike records. But only this spesific mechanic-dealer has access.
In any case this is the first update we had fron a bike with Barnet discs installed so reaching the first 1000 do post again about clutch behaviour. Tks .

Cheers Costas
Not that the brother in law (Scotland) has also installed a Barnett in his k12S - so I'll be interested in keeping an eye on both. I'll probably shuffle the friction plates at around 20k given the outward facing frition plate problems on the cage - Tom
