Title: Frenchies Ban Intercoms??
Post by: Belco100 on June 25, 2015, 03:39:30 pm
... or so I thought. But it looks like they have just banned earplugs that sit in your ears and play music/phone etc. Built in speakers etc used for intercoms are still allowed (not entirely sure if this is true??)/

They've just come up with yet one more politically correct law.

Yes Simon this has been around for a few months now. You never know what is fact and what is fiction so I normally wait for the dust to settle and the French to finally make it clear. Then check an official French website and hope much doesn't get lost in translation.

As everyone I think knows by now, French driving/riding legislation frequently changes like the darn weather !! However, similarly to Rae, I regularly check the AA (driving abroad) website which posts current legislation, and highlights that any relevant changes are posted on their website. Re earplugs, it's on the French 'to do' list, but not law....yet....!!

Becomes law on 1st July this year. But it is only banning putting things in your ears - speakers built into your helmet are allowed. As are 1000W stereos.
