Stove enameling ....
« on: September 18, 2019, 07:57:41 pm »
Previous owner of my X3 had done a horrible rattle can job on the alloys, mate of mine who does my MoT's said he could get them done properly in whatever colour I wanted. Figured I'd go for graphite grey (hopefully wont show the dirt easily :) )

Very pleased with the results!

Nice job on the wheels. I had mine painted very dark grey, almost black, satin finish. That's almost perfect to disguise the brake dust.
To clean them I thoroughly recommend Bilt Hamber autowheel spray, it's by far the most effective thing I have ever found, makes cleaning alloys almost enjoyable.

I have white ones (don't ask why), and the garage said 'We thought they were standard grey alloys - until we washed it'.
Top result for my perseverance in not washing the car.  8)

Flip. I came in here looking for some log burner action!

I think I have that Bilt Humber bridge stuff. Stinks to high Wycombe even when it's in its bottle and the bottle is in a bag. But works a treat on the annoying but lovely multispoke MV1s on an E46.

Have you got a before picture so I can say "what a difference!"?

Been there, made the decision, waiting for the planning application.

Maybe we need a 'lifestyle' thread  8)

So my boss asked if I'd be getting new centre caps to compliment the refurbed wheels, I said probably, then he pointed out that BMW did self righting wheel centres :) with a bit of staff discount they've worked out a tenner more than the retail on the standard ones, can't wait to get the car back and fit them :D

Would they fit in the centre of a K1300S rear wheel?
As I have grown older, I've learned that pleasing everybody is impossible, but pissing everyone off is a piece of cake.
