K1300s Centre stand fittingh
« on: March 04, 2018, 08:27:24 pm »
Hi All,
I have a K13s anniversary model I would like to fit a centre stand but the but the bottom fairing/belly pan is painted red. My question is on a Bmer stand does the fairing require must modification or cutting to fit.

The cut is outlined on the belly pan I believe.

I've actually got a second hand center stand for mine that I've never fitted - how hard is it to do? I understand a spring puller is probably a good idea - has someone got a recommendation for one?

P.S. apoligies for hijack

The cut lines are on the INSIDE. I advise (having done two) that you use either an electric jig-saw or a junior hacksaw.

When it comes to fitting the stand good luck cos the intructions are crap. Oops sorry. I meant to say CRAP!

I recommend the pile of pennies method 👽

I do it like this on my R Sport. I don’t know if it works on other models but I’d b surprised if it didn’t.

Fit the stand with one bolt/nut loosely fastened (the bolt furthest from the springs)
Fit the springs. Lever or pull the stand so that the other bolt can be fitted.
I have had my stand off several times and I find this method to be very easy and effective with no need for excessive effort, spacers or friends to assist.

Can you still count to ten on the fingers of your left hand?

And now the right?

All fingers present and correct. I've never done a K13 but it really isn't difficult on my 12 with this method.

You're all filling me with confidence ahaha. I'll give it a go when the garage has a bit more space in it.

Just follow the Yorkshire Farkler's instructions on this and you won't go far wrong.  :)
