Curiously the Italians in the north do make a lot of very good mechanical device like lifts,  in construction quite a lot of mechanical kit comes from there , but somehow not translated into motorcycles until the germans started buying up style brands

Italian engineering seems pretty good to me. What's bad is the QA dept.

If the engineering was that good you wouldn't need a QA department...
