A rare beast nowadays! Good find; enjoy. I also loved the Speed Triple from that era.

A bit of a gamble. Bought it from Scotland so I have never seen it, but the owner seemed to know a lot about its history. I will find out on Friday when its delivered, but I wanted one of these for nearly 20 years. I have a 1200 Daytona with 900 Sprint Executive bodywork on it that may have to go to make way - under negotiation with SWMBO.

Surely looks nice. Super II is this a model classification? haven't see that one before.

Yes, it is classed as a Triumph Daytona 900 Super III and is quite rare. I think the full run was supposed to have been 800. Triumph gave a standard 900 Daytona to Cosworth to hot up and came back with an upgraded engine, up from 98hp to 117hp (claimed - in reality well short) a few bits of carbon and the 6 pot brakes. I don't know how many are left around the world, but they don't pop up for sale very often and the price varies all over the place.

I came close to buying one just like yours when I was planning my return to two wheels. However, that was delayed by another couple of years and I bought a Sprint RS 955i instead. As Chris says, you can't beat a triple.

You can beat a triple. I had a K75S for a very short while and was well pleased to get rid of it. :o
As I have grown older, I've learned that pleasing everybody is impossible, but pissing everyone off is a piece of cake.

Nah. I love (normal) triples. Had Laverdas for ages - 1988 -> 2014, with a lengthy patch in the middle for a nice Aprilia when Laverda spares were rare.

Triple = sensible width, sensible weight, nice balance of power & torque, and a wonderful sound (which the Triumph also has).
If you ever see a triple SFC1000, wait around for it to start. The silencers don't. They're more echo chambers.  :-* :-* :-*

Here's a silenced one (nice):

And a proper one with Jota pipes (1 minute in):

What strikes me is the wheels design of that bike, really nit.

The Laverda wheels? Oscam - especially for Laverda. A few Ducatis came with something very similar, but not as sweet.

Laverda used to cast their own wheels, but they were running short of money by this stage - mid-80s. If you have a chance to check a Laverda over, the casting is lovely, and all their own work. Eeee, they don't make bikes (or electrics) that that any more.

Totally agree with you. They surely do not make such personalised bikes made with a bit of passion and technical ingenuity anymore. Lovely times .

This was my Laverda 180 Jota, the previous owner to me had a big valve conversion done on it by a bunch of muppets called Motodd who succeeded in taking the valves out so far that the head cracked between the valve seat and plug hole. I remedied this by buying a brand new RGA Corsa head from Richard at Slater Bros. I traded it in 1990 against a new Suzuki GSXR750L and was given what was a good price at the time £3500, it would fetch a bit more than that now I think if still in the same condition.  ;D
