FWIW my 1200GSA conked out in a traffic jam in central London on a roasting hot summer's day a couple of years ago for no reason. Thumbed starter, dead as a dodo, as if the battery were totally flat - instruments reset, etc. Not a sossidge. Got off and heaved the f"*^ing thing into Kings Cross station car park and had to walk the rest of my journey.

I came back a few hours to discover a snotty note on the bike ("DO NOT PARK HERE AGAIN") and on a whimsy tried to start it and it just fired up like nothing had ever happened ("who? me?")

Grr

Yes, I might just do that when the sun comes out again. The rust is so small as to be kinda hard to photograph though - it's literally a bit on the disc retainers and the metal clip around the rear brake master cylinder.

Managed to get a pic up into the original post. It was such a trauma I think I'll leave it at that...

Possibly... though one thing that attracted me in the first place to it was that it had all the things done that I'd normally do to it myself anyway :)

Mrs. Prince has informed me that I need to buy her two new bathrooms, so I suppose the fun's over :( Mind you I'll get the 690 out of the conservatory in a couple of weeks... just as I managed to get used to the vibes and handling of the K. Bah.

~23,000 miles. 09 plate. I put the last 2000 miles on it. Tyres look to have another couple of thousand left. Super-reliable as you probably already know.

Equipment/extras:
- Remus Hexacone carbon exhaust with baffle currently out :) Original exhaust included.
- Sergeant seat. Has removable pillion seat, with optional backrest too. In place of the pillion there's a little "boot" with a light in it, big enough to pop your sandwiches in. Original seat included.
- BMW expandable panniers. Some scuffs (they don't stand up on their own...)
- Pannier liners
- Has tyre pressure monitors, traction control, electronic suspension adjustment and heated handlebars, all in good working order
- Garmin sat nav mount on the top yoke and Garmin sat nav included!
- Fancy screen with extra aerofoil lip
- Carbon hugger

Appears to be more or less blemish free. A bit of corrosion on the usual BMW suspects here and there but for an 8 year old bike with 20k on it I'm pretty pleased with the finish.

MOT valid for a couple more months I think.

Rough area: a village not too far from Yeovil, Somerset.

Ride away from £5750 OVNO, or it's going on Ebay classifieds in a couple of weeks. Please feel free to ask any questions here. I will get some photos up as soon as I can, when it's sunny :) It's one of the red/grey/black ones.

Hmmm I really hate riding with fat handlebars (Oxford Hotgrips are as fat as I can stand). Talking of heated grips, don't grip puppies sorta block rather a lot of the heat?

I've developed a sort of way of holding it that takes pressure off of my right wrist which seems to be helping - at least it I can make it the 25 miles home before I go numb anyway.
