Looks nice and roomy. Plenty of space for another bike or two!

According to this diagram from LKraus (about 6 posts down) you can get 5V off one of the pins, which is what you'll need for a phone:
https://www.advrider.com/f/threads/weird-bmw-nav-vi-problem.1368511/

Try measuring them with a voltmeter.
Then the fun will be making an iPhone holder. Get that 3D printer ordered....

K1300s   Wet Weight 254Kgs
k1300GT Wet weight 255kgs

Data sourced from MCS.

Hmmmm. Just looking at the two bikes that isn't realistic, just from:
- fairing
- screen
- seat
- bars
and so on.

I think the GT 255Kg is a dry weight, with the S figure being a wet weight.

Dry:
  S: 228Kg
GT: 255Kg

Wet:
  S: 254Kg
GT: 288Kg

They look more realistic to me. Not huge difference though - unlike the K1600.

My "problem" with top boxes is that they put the load in exactly the worst place on a bike. ( Not my opinion - physics fact!) If you don't care about the handling of your bike then go for it!

Depends on what's inside the topbox:  ;D

Rich, I've got some unused Tiles kicking around somewhere with replaceable CR2032 batteries if you want them?

Not sure which ones they are but probably Tile Pro so let me know if they are of any use and I'll dig them out and deregister them for you.
-=Glyn=-

Very kind Glyn. I now have a tiddler, so I'll just give that a go for a month or two, and see how I get on.
The main thing is to avoid it bashing away at the bike, so it's going to get wrapped in leather/rubber. Oooerr.

As an aside to AirTags etc., at which point in the laundry cycle was the key discovered?

Before the wash began?
During the wash with lots of metallic sounds emanating from the machine?
After the wash ended?
During the ironing process?

---> Before the wash began

One of those meandering moments thinking 'Hang on! I'd never have cleaned the radiator in these trousers so .... that means - ohhhhhhhhhh, I know where it is.' Quick sprint upstairs. Hoo-bloody-rraahhhhhhh.

I looked everywhere except the obvious, not because I'd dismissed it, but because it was a out of sight place.

Ah sorry, made an assumption!

No probs. You can lever the new (cheap) version open, but the CR2032 is soldered to the board.
De-soldering a battery doesn't feel wise to me. Hopefully it lasts more than a year...

To Andy, a blank chip is interesting, but I'm guessing you need rather more than a GS911 to copy & encode a new one.

To Matt, the latest Tile Mate doesn't have a replaceable battery, so I'm not sure which variant that case is aimed it, but I guess it's an older one.
Amazon has the cheapie Mate for £11.99 this afternoon (spesh offer), so I bought one with no replacement battery, and sod the environment.  ::)

I'll have a play and let you know if it was 2 pints of Aspalls wasted.

I did consider an Apple Airtag or a Tile.
But both designs annoyed me:
- Airtag doesn't work with Android
- Tile battery isn'tr replacemable unless you buy the expensive (and thus annoyingly large) version.

So I decided to get a life instead.

When I really lose the key you can all have a hearty laugh at my expense.
You're welcome!

Agreed with Belco - at some point Wheelhouse Tyres went from advising GTs to plain, maybe about 2-3 years ago, for a K1300S.
Whereas Pirelli Angels should still be GT, the last I heard.

The tyre supplier should really be looking it up, rather than just fitting random variants.  :o

The Atkins Jacobs Joint Venture presumably.

KU07PVS aka Vehicle C

You might hope they would use a vehicle with an MOT as a good starting point for testing:
✗ MOT Vehicle KU07PVS does not have a valid MOT certificate
Expired: 26 February 2020

I know, it's probably tucked up somewhere warm and dry in MIRA.

In The Wrong Trousers.

Which had made their way into the laundry basket, and thus out of sight and out of (my) mind. Which was what I was becoming.
Searched, the bins, searched the garden, the drive, bike bags, etc. Eejit.
