BMW / Garmin Sat Nav Mount BikePenR
« on: April 18, 2017, 03:20:19 pm »
After looking for a sat nav mount last year to share my BMW Nav V with my GS, I bought a BikePenR mount.  OK - try to get over the company name  ;D
Euro 140 I iirc, something like £65, shipped

For the K1300S you need the GT10, this mount is available in silver and black.  I got silver.  It looks good.
Installation is with allen keys and simple.
The mounts are isolated and I have seen no vibration.
There is slightly restricted access to the key - it doesnt trouble me at all.  But other than that its a good location.  Better would be above the instruments like the GS but its ok.

You also need a cradle - I bough the four button BMW cradle from BMW. It never stops  ::)

Overall:  happy.

One more vote for photobukcet.
It looks good and the key is not so bad either. Definetly better than those offered by wunderlich, turatech, etc.
Is this pic taken the way south towards lichtenstein and furka pass?

The pic was heading from Sion up the Gd St Bernard Pass (not the tunnel).
Then a great ride down into Italy, through Piedmont to Orta San Giulia, and back over the San Bernadino pass (that's the one you were thinking of Castro) towards Churr. On this trip I took the fast road to the top and then got onto the side road to go down. The fast road is super fun but I'd take the old road alll the way if I had the time.
There were a lot of bikes outside the hotel at Roflaschlucht. Would be a cool place to break a journey.
The rest of the ride from Chur to ZH cries out for cruise control.

Not in my line of sight, obscured by tank bag. Much better solutions out there.

There's always the Telferizer...
Late emerging biker - took the first bike plunge at 50 with a 12GT : swapped for a 13S 9 months in... then got my mitts on a lovely 2014 13R Dynamic in rrrrrracing rrrrred! Then the COVID came along... so I upped it to France and bought a V85TT... O Sole Mio etc etc!
