Islay gift
« on: July 05, 2018, 01:11:41 pm »
Had a visitor at work today, the owner of the Boxertrix forum of which I'm one of the moderators, enroute to the empty beauty of Scotlandshire from the toxic wastelands of "darn sarf"

He popped in to say hi, and to thank me for helping out on the forum and to wish a belated happy birthday .... along with a bottle of 23 year old Ardbeg Islay malt from his personal bottlings :D

Can't wait to get home to try it..... my house is getting like the set from "Whisky Galore" :D

If only the 'owner' of this site had a personal bottling...

every malt I've had previously has been 40 proof, this is 56 proof so a little robust :D

Ardbeg is at the end of the road from Port Ellen, it's nearest neighbour is Lagavulin and Laophraig is the next neighbour along .... you can tell there's so much crossover of flavour, the salty, smokey, toffee flavours are intense with a lovely afternote to it

Three Distilleries walk, from Port Ellen.

28% proof! Should this not be listed as a 4 mile stagger?
