Top Speed
« on: May 23, 2018, 05:01:21 pm »
Hi all

bit of a random question, I was asked today by a little boy "How fast does it go Mr" I replied really fast to which both he and his father asked but how fast I suggested that on the autobahn I managed to do about 130 mph but that it would go faster.
The younger/dafter me would have found out within the first week of owning what the max speed was must be growing up  ;)

So got me wondering has anyone had K1300 flat out and what speed was achieved.

This subject was covered a few weeks ago, take a look on Youtube, there are a few videos on there with various bike top speeds. You may have to convert from Kph to Mph.

Indicated 160 on the A34 northbound after a McLaren but the dirty air was so turbulent I couldn't get closer than about 75 metres.

I'll let you know - I'm off to Italy next week for a pizza and'll be going via the A3 autobahn which is mostly unrestricted. Won't be videoing it though

Speedo indicated 175mph on my K1200S on the A3 in Germany. Still 100% stable and not quite at the red in top. Almost a bit of an anti-climax!

On my previous K1300S Sport, GPS confirmed 162mph on a ... er ... private stretch of road somewhere in the UK!!!

My neck would break at anything approaching those speeds.
I've heard of the phrase 'get down behind the bubble' but it's not going to happen in my lifetime without some bodily modifications.
70mph is just perfect. Officer.

Not this year - going to Speilberg in August so am running a bit tight on works holiday time. Going to see friends in southern Bavaria so we're just popping into Italy for a couple of days to get my annual 'proper' pizza and coffee fix
