The K1300S still stands up as one of the best "do everything (on tarmac)" bikes available. It can tour, commute, scratch, blast the autobahns, take a pillion, carry hard luggage  ...  There may be better tourers, more "sporty" sports bikes, better commuters, faster blasters etc. but almost no other bike can do it all as well. The only bikes that, IMHO, have equaled or bettered it are the KTM SD1290GT and the Kawasaki H2 SX.
