Title: The Rising Sun, Shaftesbury, Dorset'ish

I went for a ride to Gillingham today, down past Salisbury.

My first stop was lunch at the Old Brewery Cafe and Kitchen, just coming out the west side of Gillingham. Here (https://maps.app.goo.gl/hcXXgqsHr7Pyxt7p9).
Review: Nice bikes to look at, but a bit lacking soul somehow. Scampi and chips was alright.

Then I headed back to a place I spotted on the way, The Rising Sun, Shaftesbury. Here (https://maps.app.goo.gl/wV5TjBNEBsNnHyyT6).
Review: It has on its logo "coffee tavern" so I had to take a look. It's a pub owned by a nice couple, the husband used to ride motorcycles. I had a nice chat and a decent coffee. Highly recommend! They also do lunch and the usual pub things. Next time I'll lunch there.

if you're down that way you should also pop into Compton Abbas Airfield. You could go via ZigZag hill, for no other reason than to say you've done it. Nice view from Spreadeagle hill too.

And now I've done it :D. Bit of a flat goose tbh but made me look forward to the OG trip even more. So much traffic today down that way and New Forest!
The airfield cafe was well run and nay bad.
