I'm not very politically correct, maybe it's why i didn't understand the slating this woman was giving it on BBC news this morning.
All i know was i nearly wore my coffee when the picture came up

I struggle with this one.
It's a caricature* of someone spitting out their dummy (who happens to be black). It's normal for facial features to be warped in a caricature.

*From Wikipedia:
a picture, description, or imitation of a person in which certain striking characteristics are exaggerated in order to create a comic or grotesque effect.

Here's another cartoon with purposefully caricature hair and lips. I guess, if drawn by a black person, it might well be categorised in the same vein:

I think the problem is, that in some eyes, the Venus Williams cartoon is more 'grotesque' than 'comic'.
Personally I didn't see it that way. I just saw a spoilt person, and no race bias.

Or have I missed the point completely?  :-[
We may have to ask some youngsters for a more nuanced opinion.

I was amazed that Dan or Naga (news readers) didn't bring up John McEnroe who had whole comedy skits made about him, as well as caricatures. Oh he was white so that doesn't count.

This world has gone PC mad  ::) it's not whether she was white, black, silver or gold.. it was bloody funny and she is a diva, also a bloody good tennis player who got beaten by a lower ranked Japanese player who has now lost her moment in the spot light..
