Having purchased a kit for my gsa from Les Wassel at HID50, which markedly improved the two glow worms, I fitted one of his HID50 on the K13R. I can now see where I'm going at night.

I can highly recommend him, as a customer, for the quality of his hid and service.

Of course they are, don't you want your low key KR to stand out from all the others in the carpark ? (Yes I  have a gsa too)

Bmw (akrapivic)  front mudguard/hugger and seat cover/belly pan. I couldn't see the benefit of the exhaust protector although I do have decatted carbon can without baffle.

The yoke cover does cover up the scratches, £20 from US.

Apparently Santa was good to me and a pair of HP rear sets are on their way, bargain at £520 and carbon heel protectors.

On a slightly more serious note, have you priced how much standard bits are ?

My 13R went through similarish problem. Key removed sidelights stayed on an 2d dash was lit up, first time it did it; was a dry bike run. Next time pissing down in centre of Edinburgh.

Replaced bottom half of ignition barrel, no problems since.

As an R owner, are the lsl bits sold or still available?

As the bear with little brains, my first thought was aha honey, then I went no it's motorbikes, and a K, has it had the not required but it it happens your not covered camchain mod ?

So you're tramping along, and you shut off, the throttle, for sometime, and the engine is on over run. What could happened, chain jumps, engine dies/cuts out/goes in huff. Now after sulking for a bit, the funny tricky lecky stuff thinking it knows where it should be, tries to do its best and make broom broom noises, yet yet although it lives It rattles like a tin box full of spanners (thats metal spanners, not a people description).

Or, it's possible it's jumped a tooth.

I have been known to be wrong, last time was 17th May 2004, whatever way, good luck and start saving.

Good evening one and all,

As an almost virgin, I have a technically challenging conundrum that someone can vouch advice on.

After deciding to attend bike club agm last evening, a message came through on my bluetoothed system 7. It was a 737 attempting landing path towards Edinburgh airport, he wanted to know if I could cease dazzling him.

Or.

How do you adjust (lower) the main beam so it actually does something. My gsa has an nice ornament even with the excellent les wassell hid conversions for dip/main I'm still trying to what main is really there for.

Now to my k13r, hid done for dip, but seriously it is lighting up the tops of trees on main beam, I hate riding 30mph slower than I could be because the lights are crap, and before anyone asks, yes I have new glasses too !

At the back of the headlight assembly there are hex headed plastic screws, which I assume are adjusters, but which one raises/lowers and clockwise/anti clockwise. Are they made from unobtanium cheese ?

I can say as the proud owner of 4 yes 4 VF1000R, Honda put a nice sticker on the front, above the headlight, to show what does which.

Yours in fraternal gratitude.

Tractors Are Go... KR... Top box... Scotts address... did I meet you at Alan Jeffries one rainy day last year (or possibly late 2017)?

Sadly, not I. Only bought the KR last month.

I've got a gs911 which I use on the 11r and gsa, and can follow realtime readings. I'll take it slowly and will shout HELP very loudly.

I agree about the fuel gauge bit, I'm think about engine temp displayed, I don't see why instead of blocks, it can't give an actual reading ie 90°c does anyone know at what temp the cooling fan kicks in at.

As a sad person I have 4 Vf1000r, and one mod is a manual override, hit town/traffic switch on fan, or I found that pre Vtec vfr800 operates 8°c lower, so the fan now cuts in earlier.

As for the top box, oh yea of little faith. Givi OBK 58L it is a big, aluminium top box, usually found attached to mighty steeds like my gsa. Can take two full face helmets and additional accoutrements down the sides.

Or one man and his girlfriend's clothing for a week's touring.

As my KR has the 2D dash from new, I'm curious/interested in what/how you can modify the dash.

As a luddite (or gsa owner) speak slowly and I'll try and keep up.

I went for the complete akro system, as it was only £200 more than just the end can by itself. an obvious bargain then. As for the top box every self respecting bike has one. Although I doubt there is another R with a givi 58L outback on the back.

Who's Who? / You looking at me ???

Good afternoon one and all,

This starts off a bit like this.

Hello my name is Alan and I'm a K1300R owner. The gathered throng go, Welcome alan.

Let's see, mid 50's ish, passed my test on my 16th birthday, got loads of 80's Honda's several Triumphs and bmw's from an R1100R, R1200gsa (where I can be spotted on the GSer forum) and now a K1300R.

Having seen what speeds I was doing on my S1000rr, my children explained that I needed to slow down (really!) and a naked bike was the way forward. S1000r/765RS/cb100r/mt10 were all tried but....

Then a thought struck, or more truthfully one appeared on the GSer forum for sale, that'll do me.

The deal was done, I flew down and did 420 miles on a strange bike in the middle of January, back to Edinburgh what could go wrong ????

Answer, nothing. I got used to wind, something absent from a gsa.

Brakes ok, front end feels 90% like the telelever the 11r and gsa. The acceleration up to 100mph, S1000rr would struggle from a standing start.

I wish the quickshift worked both ways, but it is 10 years old. Cruise control I miss, excellent on the A9 average camera's bit. 2D dash well, cutting edge for a decade ago.

I've bought a complete Akra system, £200 more than just the end can made it a no brainer, next thing will be replacement suspension, I've used hyperpro for the gsa, and after Ducati and Aprilia am loth to go near Ohlins.

Advice for suspension with high/low compression, rebound damping and an external preload too; only one I've seen is Nitron, unless anyone can recommend someone else.

Then the body/bellypan/seat hump will be vinyl wrapped.

I almost forgot, givi mount, coated black, dark grey bike, black frame etc but bright shiny silver carrier; it'd  drive me up the wall.

Apart from that not much else really.
