I've had my K13 Msport for just over a week.
The previous owner , looking at his previous invoices in the owners wallet, LOVED Bridgstone, had 3 sets of Battlax S21 , currently still got a pair on.

I hate them.
Even though there's life in the rear , and a virtually new front, they're off tomorrow.

Metzeler Roadtec 01 SE going on.

Had M9RR on my Aprilia Tuono , and have M7RR on my Speed Triple, so thought I'd give the Roadtecs a go.

You could also consider the Michelin Road 6 (or even PR 5) and Pirelli Angel GT 2.
Both work well on Ks.

I took the Metzelers road tec 01's off and put Michelin Road 5's on and can't fault them so far.

Every Roadtec tyre iv'e seen on most bikes have a weird scalloping wear to the front. Maybe it's because of the tread pattern but for the price in comparison to the Michelin Road 5's i would recommend those but it's down to personal preference i guess.

Not saying the metzelers are bad either but i didn't like the wear of them.

The scalloped wear on the front is likely due to heavy braking. I read a while ago how the tread blocks behave like a pencil rubber dragged across a desk. The leading edge tucks under and it's this that wears the most.

Just fitted Roadtec 01SE to another bike, pleased so far, only dry use (long may that continue).

120/70x17 and 180/55x17, same as K1300GT.

Best price I found was Demon Tweeks but blimey, look at the price! £300 for 2 tyres plus fitting!

Mate had his GS tyres done at Wollaston, little change from £500.

I had Avon Storm 3DXM ( or something like that) on the the Orange K13 I P/x'd last week, liked them.
I've had Avon, Pirelli , Michelin on that, thought I'd try the Metzeler as I like them on the sports bike, and they also won the MCN SportsTtourer tyre shootout.
But i think they're all pretty good, ( except Bridgestone) , with subtle differences that suit some, not others.

Ability to heat up quickly on cooler Autumn to Spring days , and damp road handling , as the K gets used more under those conditions for me.
Hot sunny days, the Sports bike comes out.

My K1600GT has the Roadtec 01 SE. They started to look a bit worn after 2000 miles, but that's probably normal for a K16.

I'm slightly surprised at some of the wear rates people are experiencing on 01SEs. My previous set did around 7000 miles before the rear was worn out and the current set have just come back from the Old Gits trip to Italy - 3000 miles - and look like they have another 3000 to 4000 miles left in them. While not the same weight as a K1600, the H2 SX is still the best part of 260kg without luggage, and will better the K1600 for "at the wheel" torque in every gear.
Correct rear brake use is scientifically proven to shorten stopping distances in EVERY road situation.

Metz 01 SEs fitted yesterday.

I've got 13 miles on them, wear looking good so far :-)

If anyone needs a new Battlax S21 front, whacked it on eBay !
Unlikely on this forum......

The K1600 tyre pressures are 42/42, so the higher front might account for the flattening off thats's apparent on the front tyre. At 343kg unladen it's 32% heavier than the H2 SX.

Just an update, I had a pair of PR6’s stapled onto the rims of event horizon and I’m well pleased, I still love the Angels however, the PR’s, and I know this is subjective, feel grippier in the wet than the dry to the point I’m indulging in puddles when cornering so I guess I be keeping with them.  And by the way this is not me saying the PR’s are better than the Angels, this is me finding the PR’s feel different and it’s a difference I’m happy with and along with Rich’s comment there are no bad tyres so try different ones and see what suits you because let’s be honest whichever K you ride they are bikes that accommodate your choices.👍
