Moving on
« on: September 19, 2019, 02:26:06 pm »
Hello all.

Just a wee note to say that I'm trading in the K1300s on Sunday and riding home on a nearly new Yamaha Tracer 900GT. I've enjoyed my time on the big K and it's been great to own a hyper-bike, but the time has come to move back to a smaller sports-tourer and the GT seems to fit the bill nicely. I've never owned a Yamaha or a triple so another couple of boxes ticked there. This one has had lots of nice Yamaha goodies bolted on so that wee bit more special than a stock bike... First reg March 2019 with just under 3k on the clock with one owner.

The big bike has been really reliable and I will be sad to see it go but I can't keep them all. Thanks again for the advice and the banter and I'll still drop by every now and then to have a lurk.  :)

Thanks again TurboBevy.

John.

Nice looking bike John. Enjoy.  ;)

Yet another member selling up and moving on. Wonder how many members on here actually have a K bike now?

People come and go, but there are still plenty of Ks out there:

The K1300S leads the way, followed by the K1600GT, K1200S and strangely the K1200RS - yes the old one.
So they may not all be perfect, but they don't seem to (completely) stop.

Looking at your bike (ZZR1400), there doesn't seem to be many more than the Ks: :P :P :P

And the coolest? Steve's K1 is one of 14 on the road:

I've got a '94 KLX250-G1 and there're only 9 of those left...

... though that is possibly cheating as the G1 is just one model year.

For me, the interesting question is how many ex K owners would be on a "new" K if BMW had made such a beast. It's very likely I would be!

Yes that would be the bike for me once again, new colours, sort out the clutch and cam chain problem, then you could put another 10 years on the sales of that bike.

The number of K bikes on this forum may be inaccurate due to some members that haven't posted on here for perhaps a year or more and not bothered to say they've moved on to other things.

As for me and the Zed, I'm happy to be the only individual on here with one.  :)

Ooh I don't think we have a forum count of bikes!

And yeah David, I'd be on that list if they released one. Oh well, I'll have to find another home for my pennies... and not a bank, pew!
