Workshop stand
« on: December 31, 2017, 05:31:35 pm »
Does anyone know where to get hold of a rear stand that goes through the bottom of the bikes main frame as seen in this video?

Thanks, Neil

Abba do this stand which supports the bike in roughly the same area. https://abbastands.co.uk/product-detail.asp?pid=31

My local tyre fitting guy uses one of these, quite neat as it fits a variety of bikes.  Is there any advantage of this stand vs. a rear axel paddock stand?  I only ask as these are quite a lot cheaper and I am looking to buy one!  Peter

It's better if you want to get both wheels off the ground.  A trolly jack under the exhaust headers (with a bit of ply across to spread the load) lifts the front wheel and an appropriately sized wooden block  will hold the front up securely.
Correct rear brake use is scientifically proven to shorten stopping distances in EVERY road situation.

Nowt of any use for the K here, but this might be useful to others looking for a great deal for their other bikes...

...£76 for front and rear stands AND a loading ramp. Great value.

Even better is the Abba combo kit which includes the under-engine lifter (currently out of stock)...

...although they will probably have more in.

Abba stands come with a fitting kit for the respective bike, but NOT for the K range. You would have to buy a K specific Abba stand as they don't do fitting kits for them.

Thank you to all who replied.

It turns out Sealey do them. I sell Sealey Tools but for agricultural applications so didn't think to look in the catalogue.

I'm not sure how you attach an image or post a hyperlink. I suppose you can copy and paste the above into your web browser.

If you want a stand let me know, £45.00 plus £8.00 carriage

Very kind offer Neil and I applaud you for it. I notice the catalogue price has the dreaded VAT to be added. Are you offering these at trade rates or do we have to add the VAT?
