I removed all the armour from the suit. I think getting it back in is going to take a while.
Then i put the jacket through the washing machine with full permission from mrs FJ on the outdoor clothing setting, without any detergent, just an hour long rinse really. Surprisingly it has come up nicely, fresher and cleaner. Still a few traces of fly splatter. put it out to dry in the sunshine and it dries very quickly, and after over night in the house is ready to have the armour put back.
Then I put the trousers in which similarly cleaned up pretty well. Too late to go outside but overnight indoors they were pretty dry. However this morning they still smelt too much like gorganzola for my liking so they've gone back in the machine with Techwash this time. They have come out smelling slightly soapy but infinitely better than cheesy, and are now drip drying in the shower as we have standard cornish mizzle this morning
Lets hope their waterproofing has not been affected
