Stuck throttle?

Yesterday in the middle of a quick journey, I went to accelerate, the twist grip was stuck closed. I twisted a lot harder and it released and behaved normally thereafter.

Any clues what it might be and how to prevent reocurrence?

Throttle has two cable lines the lower one needs to be replaced.

Thanks Costas. I can't tell for sure if it's the cable, and the twist grip feels normal now. It looks like a big job to change the cable. Is there a way to test them before dismantling half the bike?  😁
From my description of the symptom, how sure are you it's a cable needs changing? 20,000 miles from new?

I'd be tempted to take the cover off the cam housing on the twistgrip and make sure that there is nothing untoward with the cam itself and the upper cable ends you can get to easily. Costs nothing and you never know... 8)

Its a 20 minutes job, am feeling pazzled  .the top cable needs around 15 minutes its even easier.
