David, what are you planning to run from the USB socket.
As explained above !!!  :P
I'd like to run my phone off a ram mount or charge contents in the tank bag - so I dont want to put this in the seat area.

Your email link looks like just the ticket - but i may need something that has a 'cap' / waterproof.

Thanks for the input.

David

Or you could be a Lazy Bastardtm like me, and just buy a power bank, pop that in your tank bag and have the cable come out to the phone from the tank bag. It does leave a hole for water to come into the tank bag though. But it never rains on me. Ha.

A 25000mAh one is about £26 on Amazon - not far off the cable prices. That's enough for 6 charges.

wow, you trademarked lazy bastard before me? I was too lazy to get round to that.

I've a powerbank - but i've always like having a discrete usb plug on my bikes.

Ok - the tomtom is on the switch / ignition - so I'm going to use this. It provides 12V
So im now looking for a female usb which is weather proof. Still haven't made up my mine if i mount it in (cut) the battery cover or just have it poking out from beneath.

When you check the voltage on the 12v sat nag socket, be aware that one is earth, one live instant off with ignition and the third is 12v delayed off after ignition off. Delay depends on the day of the week, the month of the year etc.
