Hello from Oxfordshire. I bought a K1200S new in 2008. In 2012 I added a sidecar for touring. It is heavily modified with hub-centre steering, car-type wheels with low profile tyres, upgraded brakes and an extra fuel tank. When I figure out how to post pics, I'll add some!
The bike has only done about 50 000 miles but is on its second gearbox (from a K1300).
I've ridden it from Spain to Ireland and from Slovenia to Latvia and Norway.
Can't fault the motor - shame about the gearbox!

Hi John and welcome to the madhouse that is EuroKClub!

I'm afraid I am of the opinion that an outfit is the worst of both the car and the bike world in one with none of the advantages of either. Can't just nip past queueing traffic and have to put up with the cold and rain to boot.

I keep telling John (#johnniebix) this but he just laughs and rides on merrily...Brian

Hello and welcome.  I'm another one who struggles to understand the attraction of a sidecar but if it works for you...

Oof!

I've got to say my little cube top box on the GS looked a lot nicer than the big curvy bugger on the KTM.

So is the attraction (physical, not emotional) of the moon David, so is the attraction of the moon.

And it has about as much effect on the handling of a large'ish motorcycle as does a top box. It doesn't even affect the handling (for want of a better term) of the little Honda; even with a dozen bottles of red in there. And the rattling tends to drown out the noise of the engine... 8)

Without the moon, the world as we know it would end. That's quite an effect! I've never said top boxes are that bad!!!!

....

Well, all right. They are that bad! ;D
