I see that Michelin are still recommending GTs for the 1300GT but standard ones for the year equivalent 1300s.

Depending on the tolerances you need, I should be able to make some as I have a lathe at home.

Many thanks for the replies.

I don't currently have any problems with the seals but as the bike is new to me I thought while I was changing the pads/discs I'd give the Calipers a once over.

Given the cost of the repair kits I'll just clean the piston tops and push them back.

Motorworks, James Sherlock, eBay, wemoto etc.

Nobody seems to supply the front seals without the pistons.

I'm looking at changing the front disc/pads on my K13GT, and while I'm there I thought I'd give the Calipers a once over.

I'd like to just replace the seals but BMW only seem to supply seal and piston kits (they supply seal only rear kits). Any ideas on a source for just the seals?

Cheers

Martin

Which is weird when you think they use threadlock on everything else on the bike...

BMWs usage has caught me out a few times. I didn't replace the nuts, but I did add a bit of TL on them

Realoem is a fantastic site and a great resource, second only to this site  :winkthumbs:

I've trawled the usual sources for second hand ones, but I've only seen grubby looking specimens. New is far too expensive and although the raise/lower sets are reasonable they don't make standard sets, so Plan B is make my own.

Thanks for the information. My plan is to replace them when I find a set that looks half decent for sale.

Yes I was a little confused about the restamping of the front marks.

Hi,

While I was greasing up the rear suspension links (which looked well lubricated) I noticed some odd marking on both Deflection Plates.

Any ideas?

Many thanks for the info on the airbox. It was looking tricky with all of the hose clamps and it's great to know you don't have to, should make the job easier.

This is on my list of stuff to do early next year. I've got the loom/relay ready and I'm just waiting for the next service to take the bike apart (I need to check the valve clearances :'( ).

Thanks for the advice.

The two items I purchased first was a GS-911 and a repROM DVD. It was serviced by BMW back in April so that's covered, but I'll be checking the rear suspension links for my peace of mind.

Just thought I'd introduce myself.

I'm now the proud owner of a fully loaded 09 K1300gt with 28k on the clock. I plan to do all of my own maintenance and I'd like to thank the members who have filled these pages with Everything you wanted to know about K Bikes (but we're afraid to ask).

Cheers.
