« on: May 23, 2019, 05:22:09 pm »
Now Sold and off to a new owner. Deal done and dusted with ease.

It was a bargain and a quick easy sale to a nice lad ( at 28, younger than your average K buyer) and I am happy with the 3 k I received. ( so’s the wife)

I don't think many of my first bikes would do the Ton, first big bike back in 77 when I was 17 was a Triumph 500 Daytona. Speedo flicked between 90-110 and it felt fast but my then 18 year old brother had a 1976 Honda Goldwing (unfaired basic bike not a Christmas decorated armchair).  Borrowed it to go to Donington and remember getting in a tussle with a Lotus on the A10 south of Buntingford, 110-125 for a good few miles, great fun and will never forget it and girlfriend on back Enjoyed it too!!

With you on the V7.   I've had a few Guzzis and the V7 is so underrated.

Hi,  I am not far from you, just down the A 12 in Chelmsford.  Are you commuting on your bike?  Had a run alongside a k1300 Friday evening on the A12,though I was on my work bike and not my K1200.
Welcome to the club.

Costas, I'd forgotten all about it. It does the same thing as my Sena. I'll offer it up to the members to see if anyone can make use of it.

Hi Brian

I would be interested in this.

I bought a jofama tail bag and it fits my K1200 perfectly.  Made I believe by harvelsons.  Can't remember exactly what I paid, think they retailed at about £50 in Jersey ( no Vat ) which is where I bought it, dealer had it displayed on a used K 1300.

Re the bolts breaking off to save the crankcase, the way the insurance companies write bikes off these days, i would say that a case torn from engine would only only speed their decision. Through work, I have seen many crashed bikes over the last 30 years and the very few that have suffered major crankcase damage were totally wrecked in other ways   (usually gone end over end)

They are aluminium, I re-used mine and was very careful doing them up,  I spoke to a few well regarded techs I know and they all said that they can see no reason why you could not replace with an aftermarket Alu screw or even a steel screw.  Which was also my opinion.

« on: June 28, 2016, 12:00:51 am »
Me too, 37500 miles and counting

I have had the clutch rebuilt at around the price of 18 mths warranty cover. (and I have had the bike nearly 3 years)
It's not my only bike and I don't use for commuting,  plus unlikely to do more than 1500-2000 miles this year.  (or 150-200 with the weather we've been having)

How To - Tech & Forum support / Re: Quick couplings
« on: June 21, 2016, 05:56:49 pm »
I believe it the same size coupling is used on some Triumphs?   My 2000 tiger 885i had already had metal replacements on it when I bought and I seem to remember there was a lot of posts about replacing these on one of the triumph sites.

Count me in on a bulk buy if it gets that far.  Its been in the back of my mind to change it, but i always seem to forget.  (though that does seem a good price anyway)

Being discontinued ?   I work in the bike trade and visit 3 to 6 dealers a day,  plenty of them have it on the shelf and they pay more than £5 a litre for it.
