I have the Emovis tag which I use on the bike and in the car never had a problem wherever I am in the lane works like a charm.
I have also never been misidentified, just drive up slow and steady and when you reach the sensor, bingo, up goes the barrier. It couldn't be easier.

If the ABS is not working you should still have normal braking just without the ABS.

Welcome the the forum Inga, although our speciality is the later accross the frame slant K I'm sure you will get helpful suggestions when you need them. The early K's are affectionately known as the Flying Bricks.

If you perform a search you will find a whole thread on radiator cleaning, the flush through with water will work for a while.
