Its not always the destination that counts its the ride, having a destination just stops you going round in circles.

I feel a 'Reclaim Harlow' mass hamburger eating assembly coming on!

PS One wonders quite where three police motorcyclists get their authorisation from. Or the local chapter of IAM. Or the local bike school instructor!

Without knowing the full in and outs of the local issue down at Harlow, round here my wife and I have a word in the ear of our local councillor( Waste of time talking to the Police ) about Twatish car drivers in the main (The odd bike) blasting through our village and surrouding area in their lowered overloud heaps. It is a bloody nuisance and dangerous when they go like loons. So I sympathise with Councils having a go, the real issue is a lack of Roads Policing, in this county apparently at night one Road Policing officer south one north of the patch for a one million people, that is a scandle and a tragedy waiting to happen. I come clean I detest loud bikes and cars including those daft Harleys and canned sportsbike or GS with their Ackro even,  for me get a decibel tester on them and fine until it makes these pudding heads go and shut the .... up !

I'll come clean as well!! Ride in a group :o I'd rather have my finger nails pulled out cuz the only bugger that's riding at the pace he wants is the one at the front and everyone else is playing catch up,start A and go to B and I'll see you there so 3 cheers for Harrow can we roll it out across the rest of the country  :)

Funny that, cos all the groups I ride with the guy at the front is the one who isn't riding at the pace he wants . If he did, you'd never see him after the first set of lights or group of cars or even the average town.

Now, they aren't all goodie two shoes out there and I don't ride with some groups I used to cos they were all loons who didn't know, well, anything really!

Keeping a group together while making progress is a skill and an art and when done properly it makes me smile, especially as I am normally tail-end Charlie, and still playing catch-up  ;D

Brian (who loves riding alone too but agrees group riding isn't for everyone  8) )

The wrinklies leader and Tail End Charlie were top boys at the job (Who were they ??) and I am looking forward to being part of that again but I have been on a number of other group rides first one (Not Euro Club) was insanity itself with no system or any common sense folks were lost in the middle of the Alps and falling off their bikes trying to assist others who had fallen off their bikes ! There again there is the too slow brigade like the cruiser boys 50 or so of them  mimicing a large slow moving slug at 50 mph if you are lucky on M'ws and DC's they just piss everyone off as the other motorists jostle to get passed them, even granny in the 20 year old micra goes for the overtake pased these bunch of wooses ! Making progress is the order of the day.

You really do need to go to Spec Savers cuz it's on every post he's ever done on here ;)

Or do I need to say read the bottom of any post by him.

Seconded on TomL! My favourite strapline.

Although, unlike Chris, I don't mind a little bit of group riding. The last one kept my fuel consumption nice and low.  :o
