Is there a pub within walking distance? Oh and that would be about 500 yards.

If not I can fit a maximum of 20L on the back of mine :D

In fact if we rendezvous near mine again everyone can carry 20L!

Rae there are hundreds of miles of nice twisty roads in North,Mid and South Wales, It is easy to stay off the main drags and away from all the cars even in June, as you say around some of north wales there are lots of speed cameras but some of these are only in one direction so if you pick your route on a bike they do not affect the ride.
Last year we did a one day run around the Brecons, stopped at Hereford for two night the same Premier inn with some great real ale pubs there.

Rae, there's the choice of a restaurant that serves drinks at the end of the drive (around 300yds?) or the Golf Club that is around a mile away and has a bar and restaurant open to all.

If you decide on Wales, there's always Radnor Revivals. This is a group of five wooden lodges in some 35 acres of farmland, each with 2 - 3 bedrooms. There is a map/planning room with a barbecue as well for visitors to use and a local motorcycle club meets at the site regularly, usually once each  month.

The owner will happily deliver full breakfasts each day to the cabins, and there is a good pub within a mile that serves food and drink. The site owner is usually able to deliver/collect visitors to and from the pub and, if she is busy, the Landlord at the pub will provide a return service. In addition, groceries can be delivered to the lodges before arrival, to save the need to shop.

The location is a couple of miles from Crossgates and its café and some 12 miles from Rhayader.

Again we try to visit at least annually. In 2019, the BMW Club held a gathering there too.

Thank you for the information. I am not really a cottage or B&B sort of person. I prefer to stay in hotels with a bar and restaurant.
That's not to say I would rule it our completely but I would certainly lean towards hotels. I also like to be in a town or village whether it be large or small, middle of the countryside is not really my thing.

But the big problem with your hatred of the boonies Rae, is that we end up with miles of speed limited, traffic-clogged suburbs and that is going to rule me out.

As you know, I much prefer a single base with day ride outs without the luggage and the phaff of checking in and out every day whereas you insist you want to 'get somewhere'.

Any offers? I am more than willing to take a back seat on this one and just book and turn up.

Rae I know how much work and effort is put into organising these trips and I applaud you for all the past runs you have put together, looking forward to the next one. Tom

Thank you Tom, very kind of you to say so. I'll leave it a while to see how things pan out, the Covid situation and if anyone wants to take the chair  ;D

Your planning is always immaculate, Rae, which is always apreciated (as compared to my actual bookings - Llanelli - which day again?  :o).

I'm easy on loops or cross-country (hence my mix of suggestions), but I do understand Brian's position, in terms of wrist-specific problems too.

I understand Brians point of view which is why I am happy for someone, even Brian to take up the challenge of avoiding towns and speed limits. Typically in England towns are roughly 10 miles apart because when we were all horse powered that was the distance between waterings.
I would really appreciate someone planning a route circular or linear for a days riding to include lunch and coffee stops and a hotel avoiding as many speed limits as possible so that I can see how its done.

Rae your routing and planning is some kind of magic and if you were a woman and this was the dark ages or the 70s you'd have probably been burned at the stake by now :P.

On the town density note it reminded me of a chat with the friend who got me into bikes. He lives just north of Nottingham. I mentioned it must be nicer riding up there as less people and traffic. But he retorted that it's worse than down here because there are so many 30mph villages/towns every few miles! This was several years ago, and every time I see signs or sounds of new build estates I think it must be getting worse!

Now I know who to blame though. Horse :D
