1st time using this site and page, go easy please..........
I have a 2015 K1300s that I've fitted a TomTom mount to. This will allow me to switch the TomTom Satnav between my the K1300s and my other bike.
With my limited knowledge of electrics, I have purchased and fitted a Canbus power plug then attached the wires for my Satnav. My questions (prior to clipping the Satnav on the mount) are:
Is the feed from the battery regulated to the Canbus power outlet or do I have the full 12v running down the line?
Do I need to install an inline switch and fuse or will the Canbus system detect an electrical draw and cut the feed to the power outlet?
Hoping for some help in this matter.

When you say "Canbus power plug" what exactly do you mean? The voltage is converted in the Tomtom active mount, the Tomtom requires 5 volts.

You need the special BMW cable, (search the sat nav board) which costs about £10-20 from dealers or Nippy Norman. If this is the one you already have it simply plugs into the socket under the battery cover and gives earth, 12v off instantly with ignition and 12v delayed off after ignition off by about 20-30seconds.

Simples!

Don't bother with plugging it into the power oulet socket, the plug just gets in the way.

Thank you to raesewell and to phmode for the replies.
I was not aware that the mount contained voltage control.
I had bought the BMW adapter plug to fit onto the cable beside the battery.
I was looking for some clarity into whether or not I was overthinking the issue.
