Put your fj owners hat on for a mo, Doc Hacker just reported improved economy by adding diesel to a variety of bikes, write up in latest club mag.

Ah!!! That's where it came from then.  ;)

O-ring leakage... will have to work out where I should be looking!

Itis the 'O' ring on the male part of the dry-break connector on the pump flange on the front of the tank.

Yes the infamous plastic quick coupling connector, notorious to brake in southern Europe . Note a leak fm its upper side would result in petrol loss without trace do to evaporation.
Was this bike went through the pump replacement recall?

Bike is 2015 so I believe it's fine.  Internets says 2011/2012 was when that ended.

O-ring leakage... will have to work out where I should be looking!
Un responsible internet sources know a crap. The recall is still open and if someone has issues gets a new pump.  Year of construction has nothing to do with general type 1 recall only manufacturers serial number do play a part.

Belated thanks Costas man.  I will check for myself when I have a lovely warm garage to work in!  Which will be early June fingers crossed :).

Although I just discovered that big new KTM thing so I may finally give up.

Well I only know this for sure:  I have more sense than I have geese.

Also I'm just in mid-despair that because the bike is now 2 yrs and 1 month, BMW Motorrad so far think corrosion is just fine.  Not to mention my cracking mirror arm.

They thought corrosion was just fine with my 30k mile old one, fine.  They decided piston slap on my 16k F800ST was fine, when elsewhere in the world it wasn't (and we all frigging know it wasn't).

Why do I keep spending money there?!

I'm in disillusionment land atm.  But lucky for... nobody/my mortgage... we seem to live in a dearth of KTM dealers, so it's enough effort to make me wait a while.

I think what will spell the death knell for my BMW ownership will be if they decide my corrosion at 2 years and 1 month is my problem.  Then I'll try my hand with KTM corrosion I think.  Or two cheaper bikes!

You could buy two K1200S's and that will keep you going (at 48 to the gallon) no matter what!

Oh, apart from sticking throttles, bad fuelling, mouldy ball-joints, corroding alloy and bubbling paintwork.......

Well, some good news on the corrosion front.  BMW will replace front and rear through "good Will".  I don't know who this Bill fella is but it'll do the job so long as they don't require some fealty thing in return.

In other news I had some odd incident in Wales last week (on the bike!) where I opened throttle, it sounded muted and didn't really accelerate.  Happened twice, first time doing a lazy 5th gear overtake, second time doing a 2nd or 3rd gear zoom out of 40 zone.

I'll just assume it's cursed.
