An update to this story.
Exactly 1 month after my bike was stolen, MCE have come good & the money is now in my bank.
Although I had a high excess, a total of £1150, I have ended up with getting £300 less than I paid for it 18 months ago.
I did buy it with the cam cover gasket leaking & poor running engine which probably de-valued the bike some.
I had to clean out the engine breather pipes & refit the original cover gasket, which cured the oil leak £0.
TomK1300S very kindly attached his GS911 & instantly diagnosed the exhaust valve sticking closed, which when wired permanently open, cured the poor running issue.
I've since bought an oldish 2007 R1200GS that is in excellent condition.
I'll see how I get on with it & may upgrade to the 1250 or may find I can't do without another K1300 fix.
Love the riding position of the GS, but miss the smooth almost infinite power of the K.
Have to say I can only recommend MCE insurance after my dealings with them.
