I know it was probably me that got this thread off track so I will attempt to bring it back on track.
I am going to use my Sat Nav to direct me to the pub to have a pint in my non head keeping Tulip  ;D

I'll join you in one. I've just topped off my handled dimple pint mug with a lovely Chilean red. Room temperature, no head and just the way it should be...  :o

Psst Brian. Psst. Add in some sat nav words!

For my part, I re-set up my KTM Navigation app after it 'lost' fge voices and refused to reinstall them.

The BMW app, when we all get there, has many more features than the KTM one. Can't even import gpx to this one!

Sorry all but I am having further problems with my Rider 500.

I am thinking of riding to France this year so have downloaded maps for France and various other countries. I have changed the current map to France then entered Concarneau. I then clicked on a point of interest and the device responded as it should but when I click “ride” it states no route possible. Exactly the same has happened for sundry other European locations. However when I change the map back to UK and Ireland it happily takes me to locations in both Dublin and also Douglas on the IOM.

Does anyone know why this has happened. Will French and other European locations suddenly be possible when I arrive in Calais? Can I rely on my device to take me anywhere to territories for which I have downloaded a map?

Hopefully someone  (Rae?) can offer me some advice

Make sure you don't have certain types of roads excluded, ie: unpaved roads.

Thanks Rae but I think that I have solved the problem. Rather than identify the country I find that I should click on Europe then identify the town then pick one of the Points Of Interest and away I go. I have found routes for places in France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Belgium and Netherlands, all countries for which I have downloaded maps. Additionally, I have also found Points Of Interest in Poland, Greece and Norway. These are territories for which I have not downloaded any maps. Weird or what!

Anyway, I shall book some hotels in France and Spain in a couple of months then download their addresses and hope everything goes well.

Best wishes and as ever thanks for your time and patience,
Tony

I am off to France in about 3 weeks with the Duffers (first time since 2019) and I always save lunch/coffee stops and hotels as a favourite which makes it easily accessible. You can do this on the device but it's much more convenient to do it on the Tomtom route planner.

Yeah I've been quite impressed with that. I used the desktop version to plot my Wales jaunt and had both ways sorted in no time at all. (A small amount of time)

Thanks for that Rae but as it will just be me and the missus on my bike we will just stop when we need a break for a wee/food/petrol.
